KUPD’s Red, White and U-Fest brought a ton of metal acts to Firebird International Raceway on September 10. But let’s be honest. There’s more to see at a rock festival than merely the talent. There was no shortage of spectacular and surreal art work at this year’s Burning Man festival in Nevada. Huge pirate ships, neon-covered Trojan Horses, an eclectic selection of unusual art installations and sculptures were featured at the weeklong annual festival. Valley burners recently returned from the event and shared some of the stunning photographs they took out on the playa, including snapshots of locally made art. Check it out.
